Cathy Ann (Mansholt) Matthews, age 68, passed away at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois, on Friday, March 7, 2025.
Cathy was born the daughter of Charles Henry Jr. and Shirley Ann (Kinder) Mansholt on June 5, 1956, in Litchfield, Illinois.
Mrs. Cathy Matthews graduated from Hillsboro High School class of 1974 and went straight into working for Echlin as a Master Cylinder Inspector, having spent around 30+ years with the company. She then went on to work at Hillsboro High School in the cafeteria.
Mrs. Matthews married Rick Matthews on August 2, 1980, and he survives her.
Cathy had a passion for several activities such as camping, yard-saleing, horseback riding, and traveling. Her and her friends Marsha, Terri, and Amy enjoyed going to the St. Louis Cardinals baseball games, not just to watch the game however, but to people watch as well. Cathy was known to enjoy her Diet Coke and Cheetos, and she savored those treats even more when she had them while she would watch her
