Douglas Lee "Doug" Catlin, 72, of Springfield, Illinois, died Saturday, February 22, 2025, in Springfield Memorial Hospital. Doug was born December 10, 1952, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Jesse Victor and Aleita Mae (Kestner) Catlin; he was the youngest of six children. He grew up on a farm in rural Blue Mound, and graduated from Blue Mound High School in 1971. He graduated from St. John's College of Nursing in 1979 as an R.N, and then Sangamon State (now UIS) with his Bachelor's Degree in Communications in 1988. He worked for 35 years as an R.N. at St. John's Hospital, then after retirement there, for an additional 6 years as an R.N. at Springfield Memorial Hospital. In retirement, he worked part-time at Barnes & Noble.
