Fred "Sonny" William Bergman Jr., age 93, of Irving, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 8:15 AM in Litchfield, IL at St. Francis Hospital.
Mr. Bergman was born the son of Frederick William Sr. and Marie (nee Jannsen) Bergman on March 28, 1931, in Round Tree Township, Illinois.
He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War, having earned the National Defense Service Medal for his service. Mr. Bergman went on to work for the Hillsboro Glass Factory as a Trouble Shooter, retiring in 1993 after 32 years of hard work. He was a member of the Irving American Legion Post #425 as well as the Hillsboro Moose. He was of the Lutheran faith. Fred had a passion for farming, and enjoyed other hobbies such as trapshooting. He was an avid NASCAR fan and Ford fanatic. Gardening, such as growing vegetables and flowers, was another huge passion of Sonny's.
