Mary Evelyn Norris, 85 of Taylorville passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at 10:12 p.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. She was born on December 20, 1938, in Pawnee, IL, the daughter of Ambrose and Lenora (Lovens) Boarman. Evelyn married George E. Norris on April 19, 1958. They were married for 66 years.
Before she and George had children, Evelyn worked for Dr. Thomas Butler for several years. She later worked for a local florist and at the Taylorville Public Library. Evelyn's greatest love was her husband and family. She enjoyed sending cards and letters of encouragement to friends and neighbors and loved to make people smile. For many years she found joy in providing the 6th grade class at St. Mary's with a special graduation gift.
