Richard M. Law, 87, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 26, 1936, in Owaneco, IL, the fourth son of Lloyd F. and Nellie Nevada (Friend) Law.
Richard attended Owaneco Elementary Grade School and lettered in basketball. He played baseball in the summer. He graduated from Taylorville High School in 1955, and on December 18, 1955, he married the love of his life, Kathleen McMillan, in the Davis Memorial Christian Church in Taylorville.
Richard farmed for over fifty years after working for Allis-Chalmers in Springfield, IL, for two years. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, and riding motorcycles. He served as a trustee for the Locust Township for several years and shoveled snow for many winters for the township. Richard also received a certificate of recognition and appreciation for volunteering at the Illinois Department of Corrections Taylorville Correctional Center throughout 1993, 1994, and 1995
