Richard "Rick" Allan Rose, 65 of rural Nokomis passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 4:29 a.m. at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville. He was born on September 20, 1958, in Rushville, IL, the son of Robert Andrew and Betty (Sexton) Rose. Rick was a partner to Martha DeSantis, the love of his life for 30 years and she preceded him in death in 2020.
Rick was the owner of Roses Furniture Company after working for many years as the manager of Betty Roses Furniture on the square for more than 30 years. Rick had many hobbies and was most known for his love of the outdoors. He loved farm life and spent years raising chickens and cows. Rick was most known for his love of peacocks, raising many beautiful birds including an all-white one. Rick was known as a hard worker, having been a bread delivery driver before working at Betty Rose's Furniture. He was also loved for his sense of humor and his handyman ability to fix about anything.
